The site is located on the northern urban fringe of Lindley approximately 4km northwest of Huddersfield Town Centre lying south of the M62 motorway between Junctions 23 and 24.
As a result of the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment the development has been carefully developed to utilise the potential for natural screening of the existing landform through a cut and fill exercise, cutting into the two high points at the southwest and northeast corners of the site to create development plateaus.
A substantial green corridor, approximately 40m, will be provided to the northern boundary as part of a proposal to create a wider green network, enhancing bio-diversity, public access and connectivity bringing a minor beneficial impact. Other boundaries will be planted with a minimum 10m wide woodland buffer.
The planting will visually soften the transition between the build edges of the development and the wider urban fringe character thus reducing the impact on the wider area.
