Our landscape led approach to masterplanning aims to create a conceptual framework for development. We aim to engage in the development process from an early stage to create sustainable communities - places where people want to live and work, now and in the future. Our methodology respects and responds to the existing natural environment, dealing with complex problems whilst providing flexible solutions that maintain local distinctiveness.
We have a sound working knowledge of current legislation and best practice, embracing ecological and sustainability principles within all our masterplanning projects. DLA is committed to the government's Sustainable Communities Agenda, and also implementing the ecological recommendations from the Lawton review and Green Infrastructure (GI) principles, as presented by the Landscape Institute.
Our approach to projects considers a site holistically, considering all facets of design, such as landscape features, ecology, archaeology, access, topography, services, landscape character, and community/stakeholder engagement.
